Importing Records from BIBID v1

The BIBID Import process will import and convert your BIBID records into the new iBID database format.

Pre-requisites

  • Download & install the beta version of the software from www.ibidb.org (website logins available from Cathy Reade)
  • Register the new software using your existing BIBID Unit ID not the test Unit ID.
  • Ensure you have access to www.bibid.org.uk & www.nbid.org (the new software uses these sites to retrieve updates)

You can import data from your older BIBID database if your new iBID v2 database meets the following criteria

  • You have no iBID records already manually entered into your database
  • You have registered your iBID Unit ID and it must match the Unit ID in the BIBID database.
  • You have BIBID v1 installed on the PC you're using to run the import process.

Step 1: Start iBID v2

Start iBID and log in with the test user as detailed on the software download page.

Firstly, you must register using your existing BIBID Unit ID, not the test Unit ID.

You will see the following item on the iBID dashboard.

Please ensure that if you're using a laptop it has sufficient battery or is using AC power.
