General Overview

AquilaCRS & IBID is a patient care records system for burns, that contains patient identifiable & patient clinical records.

The software product is a 3-tier database application that is installed locally at each hospital or burn service.

The software product consists of a database (usually MS SQL Server), a middle-tier application server and a windows client software. The client software connects to the application middle tier via TCP/IP using the HTTP protocol.

Access to data locally is managed by local administrators.

IBID Central Database

Each installation of IBID regularly transfers some data to a central commissioning database, hosted within the NHS Net in Manchester. The data is transferred to a web server using HTTPS, and does not transfer any patient-identifiable data.

Access to National data is authorised by the National Network for Burn Care Commissioners (NNBC).
